Alonso Hernandez
Legal Partner
Alonso, born in Merida, Yucatan, graduated in 1994 with a law degree from the Autonomous University of Yucatan (UADY). He also studied a year in Canada and so speaks English perfectly.
Alonso has specialized in corporate and foreign investment law since 1999. He is now Managing Partner of HP Attorneys, with clients of all kinds and nationalities. The excellent attention and service he provides have earned him word-of-mouth recommendations from clients.
Alonso enjoys staying current with fiscal and foreign investment laws, standards, rules and/or regulations. He studied for a Master’s Degree in Business Law and is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Administrative and Tax Defense. He has also taken numerous graduate courses, among which stands out the course on Fiscal and Legal Aspects for Americans doing business in Mexico.
Javier Cervantes
Accounting Partner
Javier, born in Merida, graduated in 1990 as an Accountant from the UADY School of Accounting and Administration. He is a Registered Public Accountant (CPR in Spanish) in General Administration for Tax Auditing (AGAF in Spanish) of the Tax Administration Service (SAT in Spanish).
Since 1990 Javier has been Managing Partner of Cervantes & Associates, a public accounting and consulting firm. This firm has, since 1996, specialized in foreign investment with clients of all types and nationalities, providing guidance in becoming established and doing business in Yucatán.
Javier is a member of the Yucatán Association of Public Accountants and the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants. He is also the Audit Partner at Miguel del Olmo, S.C.P, specializing in auditing financial statement.
Like a good accountant, Javier maintains a process of continuing education and takes refresher courses necessary to be up to date with accounting and tax requirements, standards, rules and/or regulations at both the state and federal levels.
Elias Chan
Financial Advisor
Elias is a Public Accountant with expertise in Tax Planning, certified by the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants.
He has extensive work experience and has had the opportunity to be employed by large Yucatan companies, with more than 50 employees under his coordination.
He has worked in greatly diverse areas: tax planning, investment project profitability studies, restructuring of companies, internal controls, negotiations with suppliers, customer service, financial analysis, cost accounting, risk management, and budget management, among others. All this gives Elias the vision and the tools needed to offer the most complete management and financial advisory services.
Diana Gonzalez
Project Manager
Diana, born in Merida, received her Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Marista (Marist University) and is currently studying for a Master’s Degree in Finance at UADY(Autonomous University of Yucatan).
Diana loves learning languages, believing they allow her to understand the culture as a whole and meeting people that would not otherwise be possible. She speaks English and some German, as well as French, having studied a semester in France.
She thoroughly enjoys dealing with clients. While studying, she was employed at a hotel in Cancún, working in all areas in order to gain better experience. She later worked several years at a travel agency, being responsible for student travel (courses abroad), groups and conventions, developing extensive experience in logistics and optimum client service.
Additionally, Diana teaches high school economics at Colegio Peninsular Rogers Hall and gives motivational lectures as well as on values.
Juan Carlos Hernandez
Marketing Partner
Juan Carlos was born in Merida, Yucatan. He is a graduate of the Universidad Anahuac-Mayab (Anahuac-Mayab University), with a degree in Communication Sciences (2003). Thanks to his natural gift for languages, he has spoken English since he was 10 years old.
While pursuing his academic studies, he worked 6 years as a tour guide in Cancun and the Mayan Riviera, which allowed him to perfect his English and make good foreign friends.
In 2001, he studied at the Universidad Internacional Menendez Pelayo (Menendez Pelayo International University) in Spain, where he took a graduate course on the Internet and consumers. Since 1999, he has worked at the branding firm of H. Creativos, where he is a Partner as well as Creative Director.
His work as a consultant has earned him referrals from many clients with presence both in the southeastern of Mexico and the rest of the country. He has served companies of the most diverse lines of business such as: manufacturers, supermarkets, food, beverage, jewelry, fasion accessories, hotels, architecture, real estate, construction, design and technology, among others.
His enthusiasm for self-education and self-motivation has led to broadening his knowledge and developing skills in the fields of marketing, advertising, graphic design, and web development. He is information-driven, addicted to technology and a born entrepreneur with an instinct for business.
As of 2010 he has been teaching classes in the Marketing and Design Schools of the Universidad Marista de Merida (Marist University of Merida).
